On January 5th, 2016 — as soon as I heard about it — I applied for the BreakLine Program. Now, I’m posting this page to ask you to support my application in the selection process.
Why do I need your support? Because my application is different.
How am I different? I’m an older military veteran and I already have an established technology career. Make no doubt about it, I meet the requirements: I spent 23 years in the U.S. Army Reserve, much of it working as an Infantry Drill Sergeant, and later as an Information Operations Analyst participating in Cyber Defense Exercises. I retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in May 2005. Since then, I’ve building my tech career by working in IT audit and information security for companies like Northwestern Mutual and Verizon Enterprise Solutions. And, in 2013 I co-founded a software startup called AuditPad.
So why do I want to participate in BreakLine? Because I think it will be a phenomenal once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn new aspects of the tech industry and to build my network of contacts. Further, I believe I’ll be able to give back a great deal by sharing my experience and knowledge with other members of the program!
TL;DR. Please support my application for the BreakLine Program!
